Concept Radical Workshops
The Concept Radical workshops are designed to educate students about free radicals and their impact on our health, materials and the environment through talks, demonstrations, and hands on activities.
The workshops will also provide inspiration for Concept Radical. Students attending the workshop will have the opportunity to paint or draw their impressions of free radicals using provided materials and enter the Concept Radical art competition.
Free radicals cause humans to age, art works to fade and crack, and plastic to crumble. We can’t see free radicals yet they are everywhere. Pollution, cigarette smoke and car exhaust increase their levels.
Despite the negative aspects of free radicals, they are essential for our survival being used by our immune systems to fight infection, and in manufacturing to produce pharmaceuticals, plastics and paint.
